As the weather cools down, many of us find unwanted guests seeking shelter in our homes – mice. Setting up traps is a common solution, but why not get creative with it? Here are 10 unique and effective ways to set a mice trap in your home.

1. Peanut Butter Jar Trap

Take an empty peanut butter jar and smear peanut butter around the opening. Place a ramp leading up to the jar to entice the mice. Once they climb in to reach the peanut butter, they won’t be able to climb back out.

2. Toilet Paper Roll Trap

Place a toilet paper roll on the edge of a countertop or table with bait inside. Balance it on the edge so that when the mouse climbs in, it will fall into a bucket or bin below.

3. Bucket Trap

Fill a bucket with water and place a ramp leading up to it. Float some sunflower seeds on the water’s surface as bait. When the mouse climbs in to get the seeds, it will fall into the water and be unable to escape.

4. Sticky Trap

Use a sticky trap to catch mice by placing it in areas where you’ve noticed their activity. Be sure to check the trap regularly to remove any caught mice.

Leave a little bit of wine in a bottle and place it on its side with the opening propped up. The mice will be attracted to the smell and climb in, but won’t be able to climb back out.

Place a cardboard tube over a bucket with bait inside. Balance it on the edge of the bucket so that when the mouse climbs in, it will fall into the bucket and be trapped.

Place a tea cup on the edge of a counter with bait inside. When the mouse climbs in, it will tip over and trap them inside.

Tie a piece of string to a piece of bait and suspend it above a bucket with smooth sides. When the mouse tries to grab the bait, it will fall into the bucket and be unable to climb out.

9. Tin Can Trap

Place some bait inside a tin can and attach a string to the can. When the mouse climbs in to get the bait, pull the string to close the lid and trap them inside.
